I fought it for so long. I waited until I had a long list of important things to do and only THEN did I decide to read the first chapter of The Hunger Games. Several hours later I finished, surrounded by coffee cups, snack wrappers, and the same long to-do list. “Finally,” I naively thought. “That’s over with.”
I fought it for so long. I never intended on seeing the movie. Then yesterday, Laura, Tyrone and I sneaked into a 2:35 afternoon matinee. I would have preferred if the room had been even darker upon arrival because there’s something bizarre about attending a teenager movie in the middle of a workday with 5 other adults in pleated pants.
Anyway, the scariest part presented itself early in the movie, made me anxious the rest of the movie, and has reached a pinnacle. Right. Now.
Remember those amazing blue velvet tub chairs on the high speed train to The Capitol? I DO TOO! And I can’t stop thinking about them. I literally searched dozens of different keywords and can’t find much on them. Here are a FEW poor shots of these beauts:
Not great shots of them, but this is what I imagine they look like.
I’m really crazy about this color right now and actually recently bought some cobalt ikat fabric. I had planned on upholstering the dining room chairs, but maybe I’ll make a floor tuffet?
I’ve really missed blogging. This whole thing started off as an experiment to see if this was a way I could catch up to the 21st century (without having to wear those Vibram barefoot toe shoes). Things have been pretty tumultuous around here and I just haven’t had the emotional energy to craft, explore, be inspired. On the plus side, I’ve been working a lot which is definitely rewarding, but in a different way. By this I mean, the money comes in, not out.
Do I hope for more work (but less crafty time) or less work (with more time for inspiration and creativity?). I guess I just answered my own question. BOTH!
