I don’t care much for drinking water. It…tastes funny and SO unlike a milkshake or anything else delicious I want to drink. However, put a glass in front of me, and I’ll mindlessly chug away at it. I’ve learned my lesson many a time that this is a dangerous unconscious habit when out drinking beer (or worse, jello shots. Have you ever seen anyone “mindlessly chug jello shots? It’s not pretty).
I’ve wisened up since turning 28 (my spell check tried to change that to “widened” up, which I suppose is also true). I’ve decided to trick myself by putting a 32oz carafe of water on a beautiful plate, add a straw, and see how much water I can add to my daily regimen. The Mayo clinic recommends drinking 8 x 8oz glasses of water per day. I’m not math major, but I think that adds up to 64 oz. My new carafe is 36 oz! How perfect! That’s only ONE TRIP to the faucet every day, instead of 8. And who has time for THAT? I’m very busy.
This is my new carafe and blue plate from Crate and Barrel. The Vee Carafe is only $4 and the plate was another dollar! I would have liked to find a antique one, but that can be a work in progress.
The only issue is the length of the straw I had on hand. I need a 10 incher.
Which reminds me…I’m thinking I’d really like to have some give-aways on things I find, love, and want to pass along to you guys. Any ideas on what y’all would want?
